Questions, corrections,
or just good dog content?

Marcus reads every email. Rocky supervises from the dog bed next to the desk and contributes nothing useful to the response process.

Please don't reach out about

  • SEO services, traffic packages, or "I noticed your site could rank better"
  • Veterinary advice — please contact a licensed vet for anything health-related
Response time Typically 2–3 business days. Gear questions and corrections get prioritized. Brand inquiries may take longer.
Rocky does not have email access. He has been informed of this and disagrees strongly. All trail-related correspondence will be passed along to him during the post-hike debrief.
Common questions
Before you write — check if it's already answered
Can you recommend gear for my specific dog?
Yes — include your dog's weight, breed, coat type, and what kind of hiking you do. The more specific, the better the recommendation. Or try the Gear Finder quiz first.
I bought a product you recommended and it broke. Now what?
First, contact the manufacturer — most outdoor brands have solid warranties. Then let me know: if there's a durability issue I haven't seen, it affects the review and I want to update it.
Do you review products for free if a brand sends them?
Sometimes. Sending a product doesn't guarantee a review or a positive outcome. If I test it and it's not good, I'll say so or not publish at all. I don't do paid placements.
The trail information in your article is out of date.
Please tell me — trail regulations and dog policies change often. I update these at the start of each camping season but I miss things. Flag it and I'll fix it fast.
Can I republish or quote your content?
Short quotes (under 100 words) with clear attribution and a link back are fine. Republishing full articles or substantial sections requires written permission. Reach out first.

What we consider for review
DogTrailGear.com occasionally accepts products for field testing. Here's what that process looks like — and what it doesn't look like.
  • Products must be relevant to active dogs and outdoor life — hiking, camping, trail safety, or related
  • Testing takes place on real Colorado trails, minimum 2–3 full hikes before any review is written
  • Sending a product does not guarantee a review, a positive outcome, or any specific timeline
  • All product reviews disclose whether the item was provided at no cost
  • We do not write sponsored posts, paid reviews, or guaranteed-positive content
  • We do not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage of any kind
